Jack Plant was developed by crossing the iconic Jack Herer with an unnamed mostly-sativa hybrid giving it an indica-like structure and reduced flowering time. This is the same potent but energising sativa that the original is known for.
Even though it looks like an indica, it grows tall like a sativa: one major consideration for indoor growers. The need for staking is a distinct possibility, especially with larger outdoor plants that can top a gargantuan 5 metres (nearly 15 feet) and produce massive harvests. Indoor plants will grow to about half that height but 7 feet is still ambitious for most grow rooms.
These plants produce buds that are tight and dense and become loaded with potent resin once fully mature. They have a flower period of about 10 weeks which is about 3 weeks faster than most sativas on average. The best indoor environments for these plants are greenhouses with high ceilings. The good news is that they are very hardy and take well to outdoor growing, which really is the best bet for these plants. The original Jack Herer doesn’t grow as tall so indoor growers might want to consider that or another Hybrid with Jack genetics if indoor conditions aren’t accommodating.
When growing Jack Plant outdoors, be certain not to expose it to frost. These plants stand up nicely to rises and falls in temperature between day and night and they have a very subtle aroma, making them a safe and discreet addition to any garden. Those who are new to growing cannabis will certainly appreciate how easy it is to work with these seeds in terms of overall care (staking it the biggest consideration with these plants). Experienced growers will appreciate the ease of handling as well, along with it’s incredible yields.
